Thank you for using Autodesk® Infrastructure Map Server 2016.

This Readme contains important information about Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016 that may not be included in the online Help. It is strongly recommended that you read the entire document before working with it.

Pay particular attention to the following:

Default Port for IIS and Apache– The default port and virtual directory are changed to http://<machine>/mapserver2016 (for IIS) and http://<machine>:8008/mapserver2016 (for Apache).

For Application Extension-The virtual directory is changed to http://<machine>/mapserver2016/appext.

Infrastructure Map Server Installers

Windows

Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016 for Windows includes the following components:

Note: Autodesk Infrastructure Mobile Viewer and Autodesk Infrastructure GeoREST will be installed together with Autodesk Infrastructure Web Server Extension by default.

Linux

Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016 for Linux also includes two installers. One is for Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016 (32 bit only), and the other is for Autodesk Infrastructure Studio 2016. See details below:

Note:

  1. Autodesk Infrastructure Mobile Viewer will be installed together with Autodesk Web Server Extension by default.

Installation Notes

You must have Administrator/root permissions to install the Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (Windows only)

Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator 2016 and Autodesk Infrastructure Studio 2016 requires Microsoft® .NET Framework 4.5 prior to completing the installation. This is a URL to Microsoft’s site to download and install .NET Framework 4.5.

Configuration Dependency (Windows only)

To install Infrastructure Application Extension, Web Server Extension must be installed and configured as IIS/.Net.

Installing Infrastructure Map Server 2016 using the MSI file

Installing Infrastructure Map Server components using the MSI file may result in invalid installation. You are strongly recommended to use Setup.exe (for Windows) or setup_linux.htm (for Linux) file to install each component.

Installing Infrastructure Map Server 2016 on Linux

If the Firefox version is later than 17, you may fail to install Infrastructure Map Server 2016 by following the steps in Installation Guide. Please try the steps below:

  1. Run #[DVD Root]/linux/fdo/install
  2. Run # [DVD Root]/linux/server/setup
  3. Run # [DVD Root]/linux/web/setup

License Activation

The standalone license (SLM) allows you to use the product in trial mode for 30 days. You can activate the license at any time before or after the trial period expires.

For Linux, the network license (NLM) allows you to use the product in trial mode for 60 days. After this period, you need to activate the license to continue working with the product.

To activate Infrastructure Map Server for Windows

  1. Launch the license activation tool from Start menu > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2016 > Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server Licensing Activator.
  2. Click on the Activate button on the pop-up dialog.
  3. Input your Serial Number and Product Key if not already provided during installation. Click next.
  4. Check the option ‘Connect now and activate! (Recommended)’, click next.
  5. Log-in to the Autodesk website with your credentials and follow the wizard to finish the activation.

You can also request an activation code by visiting: https://register.autodesk.com. Once received, continue at step 4 above and enter your activation code.

To activate Infrastructure Map Server for Linux

  1. Install the Network License Manager tool on the same computer as Map Server or on another computer, as you prefer.
  2. Obtain a license file for Infrastructure Map Server from https://register.autodesk.com. The following information will be required:
  3. - Your Serial Number

    - The Hostname and Ethernet Mac address of the system where the Network License Manager resides

  4. Setup the license server with Network License Manager using the license file obtained.
  5. On the Linux system where Server is installed, create LICPATH.lic file under /opt/Autodesk/infrastructuremapserver2016/server with content:
  6. SERVER [license server name or IP address] 000000000000

    USE_SERVER

  7. Edit [LicenseServer] and [SerialNumber] properties in serverconfig.ini (/opt/Autodesk/infrastructuremapserver2016/server/bin) file.
  8. [LicenseServer] – File path for LICPATH.lic, e.g. /opt/Autodesk/infrastructuremapserver2015/server/LICPATH.lic

    [SerialNumber] – The serial number you received from Autodesk

  9. Restart the server.
